Guys, hopefully you can help.
We're having performance problems with a T310 server running IIS and SQL. Unsure exactly where the problems are, I've been investigating and noticed orange lights on the two drives on the front of the server. It's running 2 x 300GB 15k SAS drives in a raid 1 array.
OpenManage advises 2 things, out of date firmware and "failure imminent" on both the physical drives.
I've ordered some replacements but wanted some advice as to their installation, build and possible changes.
For example, shall I simply put both the new drives (and caddys) in the server and mark them as hot spares? Will they automatically build? Can I then remove the others?
Any advice appreciated.
