I have an FX2 chassis with 4 FC430 blades. Three running VMWare 6.0, one running Windows Server 2012 R2. In each of the OS's they only see two NICs. One goes out the top IOA which I have two 10 gig fiber sfp+ modules in connecting to the network in LACP, and the other goes out the bottom IOA which has passive Twinax to two different brocade 10gbe switches, each also containing an uplink to an EMC VNX SAN providing NFS datastores to those VMWare instances.
I may bring on another storage array across those two broacade eithernet switches, but VMware sees that connection as one vmnic. The reason this is important is that I need to identify both uplinks (both to each switch) to setup multipathing rules for iSCSI over that jumbo frame ethernet switch. How can I define how each blade "sees" the uplinks in the IO Agrigator cards?
Also for the uplink to the network, is it possible to double that uplink and have all 4 ports uplinked (for 40gbps throughput)? Or for NFS/iscsi, two 10gig's in LACP on one switch and two 10gigs in LACP on another switch?
Just looking for configuration advice. Our stand alone PowerEdge R620's get better network throughput but they have dedicated QLogic 10gig nics in them. Nothing is shared like in an FX2 chassis. I like the size of the FX2 and how we can really consolidate a lot of compute in it, but not so much the reduction in throughput.
