For Dell VRTX, is CMC licensing tied to the actual CMC cards themselves?

Hi,

I am wondering how the licensing for Dell VRTX CMC resides with the system.

VRTX enclosure has a system main board for the PERC8 controllers and the 1+1 CMC cards. 

When you license the system for Express or Enterprise version of CMC software, does the license get applied to the main board, or does it get applied to the CMC card itself?

Here is my main point I am trying to figure out: if you get a second-hand VRTX chassis that comes with standard Express licensing, is it possible that you could simply find a CMC controller for sale that has Enterprise enabled and swap it out? Obviously this would not be possible if the license is done at the system mainboard level, so that's why I was looking for that distinction.
