Hello all
i'm new to autodiscovery features so, sorry if i'm asking something obviuous.
I'm try to testing in lab (my private LAN) the autodiscovery feature.
So, installed Dell OME on a W2008R2 - 8GB RAM and ALL the prerequisites and put it on a static IP (say 192.168.1.40).
Then i configured a brand new R320 with iDrac7 Enterprise, with a static IP (say 192.168.1.50) and the autodiscovery flag enabled. I also disabled local drac administrator in order to autodiscovery to take place.
The official Dell manuals states that autodiscovery needs port 4433 opened at the OME side.
After some googling, i cannot see the autodiscovery function to start.
Testing the port 4433 with a simple telnet command, revealed that no service is present.
In order to simplify testing (the setup is a lab setup) i finally switched off the windows firewall on OME side and relaunched the autodiscovery. Unfortunately the telnet command still get nothing on port 4433, nor on 443 neither on 433 (as suggested by Dell Server support) so autodiscovery doesn't start.
So the question is: does OME need something else in order for autodiscovery (not SNMP discovery) to function properly?
Does OME autodiscovery support remote (wan) servers (just to know if the tool is what i'm searching for).
Thanks guys for any ideas
Emilio
