I have a T610 which has recently started hanging on reboot with the following error:
iDrac6 Communication Failuree
Alert! iDrac6 Error... Rebooting
After a pause it automatically reboots, and the second time hangs with the message:
Alert! iDRAC6 not responding. Power required may exceed PSU wattage.
Alert! Continuing system boot accepts risk that system may power down without warning.
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the system setup program.
I have never made use of the iDRAC, or even configured it for use, and I could live without it if I could just get the server to boot without it. I went into the system setup but couldn't find anything about disabling the iDRAC, is it possible?
This server only has one power supply, is there a way to test it to see if it has gone bad, given the indication "power required may exceed PSU wattage." It has run OK for several years on that power supply, but now that I think about it, this started right after there was an issue with the power lines coming into the building, which may have damaged the power supply.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave
Also, the system fans are running at full speed, (very loud) and reading some of the other posts on here about iDRAC issues, I understand the iDRAC also controls the fans?
