Hi, I've used Ubuntu 14.04/16.04 Linux on a DisplayPort equipped HP laptop with no issues.
I am currently using Dell Latitude 7480 with a docking station that has a DisplayPort; that setup drives a DisplayPort display along with a VGA display, and the laptop makes three independent displays.
I have a PowerEdge T20 running Ubuntu Server using a VGA head, no issues. I have a second T20 (hardware backup, identical specs) that I have installed Ubuntu Desktop 16.04 to. The machine works great, except that it does not seem to recognize the DisplayPort.
I see in dmesg that Intel graphics memory is being reserved, and that up to 2048M is available for graphics (the machine has 16GB in it).
I put a spare TB disk in and installed Fedora latest, but the DisplayPort was still not detected.
I would appreciate any guidance. I wonder if this is a driver issue for the particular chipset in the T20?
